You have worked long and hard developing your show, either writing your own material or recreating another artist's work. You know that you can deliver a great performance so now all you need is a PA rig to go out and entertain, right?

The trouble is that however great you're sounding on stage, you're never sure that it's coming across to the audience. Running your own PA is fine in small venues where you can hear pretty much what the audience is hearing, but once you're on a larger stage where the PA rig has to be out front of the band to avoid feedback you can never be sure of what your balance is sounding like.

This is where having a professional engineer is vital. You need to be confident that all of the nuances of your performance are being conveyed to the audience and to be able to hear all of your performance yourself.
